Chest lock with guide
Central Europe, second half of 17th century
Malleable iron. Two-lever mechanism riveted to a cutout support plate featuring cutout tracery. The scrolling leaves and mascaron (the god of wind?) on the covers are decorated with grooving. Octagonal case for a hollow-shank key. Rivet heads fluted into rosettes.
